Chapter 7: Truth

When I  (to awake)I saw Mr Weed leaning over me with a glass of water in his hand. “You shouldn’t have done that”, he said. “I’m sorry, but I  (to have)to!” I responded. “Could you please tell me the truth now?”
He looked sadly at me: “Please don’t tell anybody or we are out of business. When we  (to buy)the hotel we  (not/to know). The old owner once had a rich gentleman in that room. Some robbers  (to try)to take money from this guest on a misty night. As he  (not/to want)to give his money away the robbers killed him and  (to throw)his body into the sea, bound to the white stone statue you have seen.
The police pulled him out but no fish was caught anywhere close to the white statue. So the fishermen  (to put)the statue into the forest. Still no living thing can get close.
The old owners of the hotel told us to keep the room of the murdered man locked as the ghost wants to rest here from time to time and try to find his murderer. So if you tell anybody, nobody will stay in this hotel.”
